Project Akira represents the first model in a new class of high-speed aluminum yachts from the Dutch shipyard. The design, by Omega Architects, features a sleek profile with an elongated form and a distinctive “scoop-shaped stern.” Extensive use of structural and decorative glass creates a strong connection between the four decks and the spacious 780GT interior.

Offering luxurious accommodations for twelve guests, the layout includes a large 63-square-meter owner’s stateroom, a VIP suite on the bridge deck, and four additional guest cabins. A stainless-steel and glass elevator provides convenient access between all decks, while separate crew quarters can comfortably house a staff of thirteen. The interior design is entrusted to the renowned British design studio Harrison Eidsgaard.

In terms of performance, Project Akira will be powered by a pair of IMO III-compliant MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines, delivering a top speed of 22 knots and an impressive range of 4,400 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Like many of Heesen’s fast-cruising yachts, the new series incorporates an ultra-efficient and lightweight Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) for exceptional performance.

Project Akira is one of thirteen models currently under construction or on order at the Heesen shipyard. Another project of note is the recently sea-trialed 50-meter superyacht Cinderella Noel IV, commissioned by a dedicated yachting enthusiast.
