The Superyacht Cup Palma (SYC) is gearing up for its 28th edition, inviting entries for a week of thrilling yacht races in Mallorca from June 19th to 22nd. This year promises to be a spectacle, coinciding with the America’s Cup in Barcelona shortly after.

Event director Kate Branagh anticipates a strong showing, welcoming both familiar faces and newcomers: “2024 is shaping up to be a banner year, and we’re excited to host returning yachts alongside any new challengers.” Organizers expect 12 to 15 yachts to battle it out on the racecourse.

Among the returning veterans is the legendary 38.5-meter J Class Velsheda, ready to uphold its status as a regatta mainstay. Fresh faces include the 39.4-meter Hoek Design Vijonara from Pendennis Shipyard, and the colossal 44-meter Vitters J Class Svea.

The festivities kick off on June 19th with registration, followed by the inaugural J Class race, a captains’ briefing and celebratory welcome cocktails. The racing continues throughout the week, punctuated by daily happy hours and prize givings to foster camaraderie and networking. On Friday, an exclusive St. Regis Mardavall Midsummer BBQ for yacht owners caps off the day.
