Sanlorenzo has expanded its acclaimed SL range of flybridge planing yachts with the introduction of the new SL80A, a sub-24-metre model that brings the shipyard’s signature asymmetric architecture to a more compact platform.

Joining a line-up that currently spans from 26.6 to 36.9 metres, the SL80A has been conceived as the “first icon” of the range, combining the design language and onboard experience of her larger siblings while delivering greater versatility for owners seeking a yacht suited to both coastal cruising and shallow-water destinations.

The project continues Sanlorenzo’s longstanding collaboration with Zuccon International Project, which is responsible for both the yacht’s exterior styling and interior layout.

A Compact Yacht with the Presence of a Larger Model

Although measuring just under 24 metres, the SL80A has been designed to retain the generous proportions, openness and refined atmosphere that define the SL series.

According to the Italian shipyard, no compromises have been made in terms of comfort or onboard liveability. Instead, the model translates the spatial qualities of larger yachts into a more manageable size, offering owners increased accessibility to smaller marinas, sheltered bays and coastal cruising grounds.

The yacht’s profile is characterised by taut, architectural lines and a seamless visual continuity between the hull and superstructure, creating an elegant silhouette that remains unmistakably Sanlorenzo. Crowning the design is the series’ signature flybridge, reinforcing both the yacht’s sporty character and her generous outdoor living spaces.

Asymmetric Architecture

A defining feature of the SL80A is the continued evolution of Sanlorenzo’s asymmetric design philosophy.

By relocating the external side deck to starboard, the yacht gains additional interior volume on the port side of the main deck. According to the shipyard, this innovative configuration increases usable living space by up to 20 per cent while strengthening the connection between the interior and the surrounding seascape.

The result is a brighter, more open environment that enhances both circulation and onboard comfort without increasing the yacht’s overall dimensions.

Main Deck Living Areas

The main deck has been designed around natural light and uninterrupted views, with expansive full-height glazing creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere throughout the saloon.

The additional interior volume afforded by the asymmetric layout gives the main living area a broader, more architectural feel than typically found on yachts of this size.

A mezzanine-style helm station has been integrated into the forward section of the main deck, providing excellent visibility while freeing up valuable interior space for social and relaxation areas.

Interior Design

The interior aesthetic combines contemporary design with warm natural materials, creating a refined yet inviting onboard atmosphere.

Soft Thai walnut wood is used extensively throughout the yacht, establishing a seamless visual dialogue with the exterior teak decking. Complementing the timber finishes is a distinctive geometric “Azteca” parquet motif, incorporated into wall panels and bed headboards to introduce texture, depth and visual continuity across the interior spaces.

One of the yacht’s standout design elements is the sculptural staircase linking the main saloon with the flybridge. Constructed from folded micro-perforated metal, the staircase creates an elegant interplay of light, shadow and geometry, serving as both a functional feature and a central architectural statement.

Accommodation

The SL80A accommodates guests across four well-appointed cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite that maximises the yacht’s generous beam to create a spacious private retreat.

The remaining guest accommodation has been designed to provide the same level of comfort and practicality expected throughout the SL range, making the yacht well suited to both family cruising and entertaining guests.

Outdoor Living

Sanlorenzo has paid particular attention to creating versatile outdoor spaces that encourage owners and guests to enjoy life close to the water.

Aft Cockpit

At the stern, the cockpit opens seamlessly towards the sea, providing an inviting setting for relaxing, entertaining or enjoying easy access to the swim platform and waterside activities.

Bow Lounge

Forward, the bow has been configured as a flexible social area capable of adapting throughout the day. The space can serve as a generous sunbathing lounge or be transformed into an al fresco dining area, making it equally suited to private relaxation and informal entertaining.

Flybridge

Overlooking the yacht below, the flybridge remains one of the defining features of the SL80A. Designed as a spacious outdoor living area, it offers owners and guests an elevated setting for cruising, socialising and enjoying panoramic views while reinforcing the model’s sporty yet elegant character.
